I'll be honest, College has made me lazy. I used to love putting on make up. I would spend hours watching YouTube tutorials on different eye shadow looks. My make up bag was my best friend. Of course those were the days when I got to stay inside an air conditioned classroom, and I didn't have walk in the Georgia heat to class every day. My first month of college I tried so hard to make sure my make up looked good every day. (Even if I only had one class that day.) Of course, once I walked outside, there was too much sweat and not enough make up, so I pretty much gave up all together. I didn't want to not wear make up, but at the same time I wasn't really into doing so much that it was pouring down my face when I got too hot. So I came up with a simple, light routine to keep my face looking bright and fresh in the hot summer sun.
Step one: Moisturize
I have always had problems with my skin. I used to be too oily, and now it is too dry. So I make sure to moisturize my face any time I wash it or put make up on. You can spend tons of money just on moisturizer alone, but I just pick up a cheap bottle from the Dollar General and it keeps my skin soft and clear.
Step two: Concealer
This is probably the most important step for me. The dark circles under my eyes are out of control. My favorite concealer is Maybelline's Instant Age Rewind Eraser for dark circles. I apply some under my eyes, on my eye lids, and right above my brows, then I blend it out. Every face is different so make sure to apply where you have redness or breakouts.
Step three: Highlight and Bronzer (Optional)
Depending on how I'm feeling and what I'm going to be doing that day, sometimes I get a little adventurous and add some highlights to my face. This is just my way of going the extra step into a more put together look.
Step four: Mascara
My eyes tend to look small if I don't wear mascara. So I curl my lashes using a generic eyelash curler, then I apply my Loreal Voluminous Mascara generously. I'm not the kind of girl to shy away from dramatic lashes.
Step Five: Eyebrows
I'll be completely honest the concept of doing my eyebrows is still pretty new to me. But I've always had crazy brows and lately I have been trying to tame them. Maybelline's Brow Drama Sculpting Mascara is amazing. It fills in and sculpts my brows with little effort, but they still look amazing.
This routine can be spiced up with you're favorite eye shadow routine, and you're good to go! Happy summer!
