Summer is overrated.

Now that summer is officially winding down, there may be a lot of people disappointed that fall is here. No longer are there opportunities to play at the beach or looking at the stars. It can seem depressing to know that all the fun of summer is coming to an end. However, there are many reasons to rejoice that fall is among us.

5. Nothing beats a good fall bonfire.

Summer might be able to offer nights by a fire, but nothing beats a chilly autumn night, wrapped up in a blanket with a good cup of cider next to a cozy fire. There is just something calming and beautiful that comes from a chilly night spent around a fire. Whether it is with a group of friends after a Friday night football game, or surrounded by your family on a Saturday night, fall is the perfect season for bonfires.

4. Fall is the best for fashion.

There are only so many ways to feel good about your outfit during the summer, especially in the heat. When the temperature outside is hot, the fewer layers the better. However, with fall comes the cardigans, dresses, tights, and boots. Layering is both cute and practical, since the days are getting chillier. We can put away our tank tops in exchange for chunky sweaters.

3. Nothing beats the fall scenery.

There is nothing as beautiful as a fall day. The leaves are falling colors of red, orange, and yellow. The air brings that crisp sensation in your lungs. The smell of fall alone can be intoxicating. Taking a walk on a fall day is beautiful and breathtaking. There is something romantic about being able to take a walk on a fall day that summer cannot simply offer.

2. Fall is a perfect opportunity to curl up with a good book.

The days are getting shorter, which means it gets dark a lot earlier. This can provide a whole realm of boredom that long summer days cannot do. You can be left with a lot of evening time to fill. However, this brings an opportunity to curl up with your favorite blanket, cider, and a good book. Getting lost in a good book can be a comforting thing as you lose yourself in the world the author created.

1. Fall means Halloween.

Look, the rest of the seasons have a lot to offer. However, none of them can bring Halloween except Fall. Decorating for Halloween is thrilling and offers a lot of variety. Do you want spooky or cute decorations? Maybe you just want a horror movie theme or pumpkin theme. Whatever the case, fall becomes a socially acceptable time to bring out your skull decor. With Halloween coming, television channels offer a lot of scary movies. This is one of the few times a year you can binge watch horror movies non-stop without using a streaming service. Halloween also means dressing up in costumes. Hanging out with your friends or handing out candy in a costume is always a fun ordeal. You get a chance to be silly or scary for a night of fun.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
