I see you shiver with antici...pation. You're sitting here wondering what lessons can be learned from the cult classic "The Rocky Horror Picture Show." Trust me, there are plenty of lessons out there to be learned. I had my first experience with RHPS my freshman year of high school and I've been going ever since. I think I'm up to more than 25 times now. I can pretty much quote the movie and all the call-backs from the audience. So let's get to these lessons and do the time warp again.
Always carry a spare tire in your car.
Brad and Janet got into this whole mess because they get a flat tire. If they were prepared, they wouldn't have had to walk in the rain and go up to this creepy castle to ask for a phone. All of their problems could have been avoided if they just had a spare tire in their car (My dad is gonna be so proud of this lesson I learned from the movie).
Castles don't have phones.
If you only get one thing out of this entire article, make sure it's this: castles don't have phones. If you're ever stranded and need to use someone's phone and the only place you can find is a castle, keep walking. They won't have a phone. You should have your cell phone on you since it is 2016, but for whatever reason you don't have your phone on you, don't even think about stopping at a castle to ask to use their phone. So just make sure your phone is always charged and don't lose it.
Make sure you're always wearing good undergarments.
Brad and Janet didn't expect to have to strip down to their underwear, but they didn't really have a choice when Columbia and Magenta started pulling their clothes off. I'm sure if Brad and Janet knew that was going to happen that they wouldn't have worn their plain white undies. Heck, if I knew that was going to happen, I'd wear my favorite pair of underwear with flowers on it. But if tighty whities are your thing then rock them.
Always ask what's for dinner before you start eating.
Is it chicken? Is it turkey? Is it meatloaf? Chances are, it's meatloaf. If you're unsure of what you're about to start eating, make sure you ask. You don't want to end up like everybody at Frank's dinner and start eating Eddie. Definitely make sure you ask what meat you're about to eat if somebody from your party went missing a few hours before dinner.
Don't dream it. Be it.
This is the most important lesson you can take from this movie. Don't just dream of being something. Actually get out there and do it! Frank always dreamed of creating someone to relive his tensions, so he created Rocky. If you have a dream, get out there and get it done!
