In a group of friends, it's always good to have different people to go to. Every friend plays an important role in our lives and it's always best to branch out and meet as many different people as you can. Friends are there to keep you grounded, to break you out of your comfort zone, and to be a comforting shoulder to cry on. As we go through life's ups and downs, there are some particular friends who everyone should have. Here, I have compiled a list of five guy friends who every girl should have.
1. The Backup Boyfriend/Date
You've got nothing to do Saturday night? Were you stood up for a date? Have no worries, the backup boyfriend/date is the guy friend who you call. You have a great friendship and while neither of you harbors romantic feelings for each other, you have a great time together. The best part is that you'll always have someone to hang out with.
2. The Brother
Even if you already have a brother by blood, adoption, or marriage, you should always have that one guy friend who is like your brother. He's fiercely protective and readily offers up brotherly advice for tough situations. He'll always call/text you to make sure that you got home safely at night or walk/drive you home himself. He also might be that voice of reason should you start slacking on homework or feel like doing something a little reckless.
3. The Rebel
Though he may look intimidating, the rebel is someone who you should have on your side. Like the brother, he is fiercely protective and always has your back. Nobody messes with him and, as a result, you'll always feel safe. However, he'll also push you a bit out of your comfort zone and get you to try new things. He's the guy who will encourage you to take risks. He can also spot when someone might be bad news.
4. The Shopping Buddy
Is there a big sale at your favorite store? It's time to call your shopping buddy. His motto is "shop 'til you drop." He's the guy who loves to shop and who never misses out on a good deal. He knows what's going to look good on you and will offer up any fashion tips that he can.
5. The Best Friend
Every girl needs a guy best friend. He's the guy you can talk to about literally anything that is on your mind. He may not have all the answers or tell you what you want to hear, but he's always there. He knows how to cheer you up after a bad day, knows what will make you laugh, and is down to hang out anytime. Whether or not your relationship with him turns romantic, he'll always be there for you. Also, he's the one you ask when you have questions about guys and why they do what they do.
It's important to have a diverse group of friends and these guys are some of the best to have.
