Spring break is a great time to catch up and read books that have been sitting on your "To Be Read" (TBR) list for months. With schoolwork out of the way, there's plenty of time to relax! Over this spring break, I compiled a list of books I'm hoping to read before I got back to school.

1. The Raven King by Maggie Stiefvater

I put this book first because I'm dying to figure out how this series ends! It's always exciting to see if you're right about your predictions. In general, this magical series is easy to become immersed in, and I'm excited to read more of Maggie Stiefvater's work after completing this series.

2. Want by Cindy Pon

"Want" has been on my TBR list since I first saw the cover on Twitter. Taiwanese based sci-fi? Sign me up for that; I've always been interested and excited to see what the world has to offer outside of the mainstream, and naturally, gravitate towards this diverse and unique plots!

3. And I Darken by Kiersten White

Not only is the cover of this book beautiful and intriguing, but it's a Vlad the Impaler retelling! It follows the POV of two siblings, and I've heard the characters are rich. I love stories that are driven by character, plus this is a series! If I manage to finish this book, I may be picking up another couple books after it.

4. The Prince and the Dressmaker by Jen Wang

I've been in love with Jen Wang's art since I read "In Real Life," so once I discovered she created another graphic novel, I knew I had to pick it up and read it. I might be cheating on this one, since I've already read it. Still, with graphic novels, I feel like I enjoy reading them twice to get a little extra enjoyment out of it.

5. Our Dark Duet by Victoria Schwab

Alternatively, any book by Victoria Schwab that I haven't read yet. But for the sake of this list, we're going to go with a book I've started and desperately want to finish. I'm intrigued by this strange world Schwab created, and want to figure out what's happening with the new monsters being introduced!

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
