Finals Week Reminders

With finals week quickly approaching, stress are high and work is piling up. But in the midst of all the upcoming chaos, there are a few things all students should keep in mind.

1. You're not going to die.

Even though it feels like you cannot go on and this is where it ends, you are going to make it through. Don't lose hope.

2. Get some sleep.

You are going to do so much better on your test if you close the book early to catch some extra sleep. Take a nap, do whatever you have to do in order to be well rested and ready to ace your exams.

3. Relax.

I know you are stressed out and have a million things to do, but don't forget to relax. Make some tea, listen to some music, and take some time to chill out in the middle of the chaos.

4. You are prepared.

You've spent the whole semester preparing for this moment, and you can do it. Don't doubt yourself and go into the week with confidence.

5. Don't stress.

I know it is hard, but the more you stress the worse it is going to be. Try to do one thing at a time and take each class as it comes. It is not worth going crazy over.

6. It will be over soon.

Just think, soon enough you will be at home, lying in your bed, watching Netflix, and finals will be a faint memory in the distance. Just power through and you have a month without a single class or test.

8. You are going to ACE them.

You are going to SLAY these finals. If you dream it, you can do it. Do your best and that is all you can do, don't doubt your abilities.

9. Grades do not determine your worth.

Your self worth is not determined by the grades you get on your finals. Do not get down on yourself if you do poorly. You are an awesome person and that cannot be reflected by a stupid test.

Good luck to everyone in all of your finals! Remember all of these things and you will be golden. Keep calm and survive finals!

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
