Finals Week As Told By 'Grey's Anatomy'

As the last class week is finally arriving, we start to try to become ready for the storm that is finals week. As much as we try to prepare ourselves for this truly horrible time in our lives, somehow things always seem worse then we ever expected them to be. The only thing that is getting us through those all-nighters and late-night cram sessions is knowing that we will soon be in the comfort of our own home, roasting marshmallows and decorating the Christmas tree.

If you are anything like me, you live for a Shonda Rhimes marathon on ABC, which is why "Grey's Anatomy" is the perfect substitute to describe the torture of finals week:

Your confidence gets you through the first reading day

Five finals in three days? Pshhh...thats easy, I can definitely do that! Who needs friends or food anyways?

By the second day you have lost all faith

The first day of studying has officially kicked your a**, and you start to lose faith in your ability to even pass college.

And you officially feel like you have no clue what you are doing

You start to wonder what your life has come to, what even is studying, and how did I pass high school?

The "did we even learn this" moment

You look over your notes and through the textbook until you officially decide that this material was never taught in class.

You start to think of alternate life paths—who needs a college degree anyways?

You start to doubt yourself and your ability to do well.

You officially lose your sh*t, which usually looks like this...

or this

or even this

Desperation comes in many different emotions.

Trying to pull yourself together before your first final:

Trying to prepare yourself for the mental and emotional torture you are about to face and trying to convince yourself that you are OK.

and by your second...

You've only finished two out of five finals, but you already feel the weight of the world coming down on you. Is it too late to quit?

You've lost the ability to do any other task or feel any other emotion beside study

Studying has officially drained everything out of you that even laughing requires too much energy.

and finally finishing all of your finals and going home!

Finally, you finish all of your finals and are ready to reunite with your family for the holiday season. *Cues dNotance party*!

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
