Well... congratulations! You have almost made it through high school! You have made it through 3 and a half years of some of the best, worst, and most awkward times of your life. Your final semester of your high school career needs to be one that you cherish because when it is over, there is no going back. These are some of the things that you need to remember when you are going through this amazing time in your life.

Cherish the times with your high school friends.

You will soon learn that when high school is over, you will rarely see your old friends from high school. Sure, you will have one or two that you still frequently text, but unless you are attending school together you will not be seeing much of each other after graduation. With that being said, make the most out of the time you have left with each other.

Prom!!!!!

If we are being honest...prom was the best night of my high school days. Yes it is expensive and yes it is stressful, but when you pull up in that limousine in your tux or your prom dress you'll see that it was all worth it. Take your time at prom to appreciate the moments that you are having! take those corny pictures that everyone takes before prom. Slow dance with your hate date. Do stupid dances with your best friends. Scream the words to the song "Get Low"! These will be the memories that you will think about when you start looking back on college so make the most out of it.

Attend every event that you can.

Attend the basketball games and sit with the student section. Go watch the baseball and softball teams. Go to the band concerts, choir concerts, and even the plays! The small things in school are something that is so much different in college. You still have a student section, but there is something a little bit more pure about being in the student section for your high school teams, so enjoy it! Also, kids involved in the arts like to be noticed by the class as well so go watch a play or a concert! Your fellow students thrive off of having the student body watching them and everyone deserves that feeling of being appreciated by their peers.

Make amends.

The people you are graduating with have gone to school with you forever, so chances are that you have made an enemy or two. Apologize to that person because, as stated earlier, after graduation you might not ever see them again.

Graduation!

YES! you have finally made it to graduation day and you are about to walk across the stage to finally get your diploma. This will be such a bittersweet moment. This is the closing of a HUGE chapter in your life and the beginning of a new one. You will be moving on to bigger and better things, but you will be leaving those that are close to you behind. So when you graduate, go grab your friends and cry because you have made it, but because it hurts to know that you will miss them so much. Hug your mother and shake your father's hand and tell them thank you for helping you along the way. Go talk to your favorite teacher'a one last time. You might not realize it, but those teachers were praying for you and wishing the best for you through your high school career.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
