As the final season of "American Idol" is quickly coming to a close, there’s nothing I can do besides reminisce on all the amazing memories that "American Idol" has given me throughout my childhood and teenage years. I know it sounds corny, but "American Idol" was a huge part of America’s life for 15 years whether most people want to admit it or not. "American Idol" has changed the face of primetime television forever and will go down in history as one of the most iconic shows of all time. Here is a top 10 list of my personal favorite "American Idol" alumni as a final farewell to the greatest show of all time.
1. Danny Gokey
Although not a household name, Danny Gokey will always be an "American Idol" favorite due to his compassion and just overall being one of the most genuine guys "American Idol" has ever seen. Danny Gokey came in third on season 8 of "American Idol."
2. Colton Dixon
Colton Dixon may be best-known for his powerful rendition of Billy Joel's "Piano Man" and his rockstar looks that stole the hearts of thousands of girls all over America. Colton Dixon came in seventh on season 11 of "American Idol."
3. Casey Abrams
Casey Abrams was one of my all time favorite "American Idol" contestants due to his goofball personality and unique artistry that he showed America every week. Who can forget when the judges used the only save of the season on Casey and he almost fell off the stage in shock? Casey Abrams came in sixth place on season 10 of "American Idol."
4. Chris Daughtry
Chris Daughtry's early farewell on season 5 of "American Idol" shocked not only the "American Idol" contestants themselves, but the nation. Chris Daughtry is one of the greatest talents that ever crossed the "American Idol" stage. Chris came in fourth place on season 5 of "American Idol."
5. Adam Lambert
Adam Lambert is by far the most unique artist that ever sang on the "American Idol" stage. Between his bad-boy look and killer vocals, Adam Lambert stole the hearts of America during his time on the "American Idol" stage and continues to steal the hearts of many around the world. Adam Lambert was runner-up on season 8 of "American Idol."
6. Kelly Clarkson
Kelly Clarkson will always be the pride and joy of American Idol. Being the first winner of one of the most groundbreaking shows in television history is a large feat to live up to, but Kelly did that and so much more. Kelly continues to produce chart-topping hits that America loves even 15 years after her initial "American Idol" win. Kelly Clarkson won season 1 of "American Idol."
7. Carrie Underwood
Carrie Underwood is arguably the most successful "American Idol" alum of all time. From producing top hit after top hit to hosting country music award shows to selling sold-out arenas all over the world, Carrie is all over the American country music scene and doesn't seem to be going anywhere anytime soon. Carrie Underwood won season 4 of "American Idol."
8. Clay Aiken
Clay Aiken may be America's most favorite and memorable "American Idol" alum of all time. Clay's sweet personality and tear-jerking vocals sealed the deal on America's heart. Clay Aiken was the runner-up on season 2 of "American Idol."
9. Scotty McCreery
Scotty McCreery took the "American Idol" stage by storm when he became the youngest contestant to ever win "American Idol." Scotty is just a homegrown country boy who captured the hearts of girls and woman alike all over America. Scotty is still changing the face of upcoming country music to this day. Scotty McCreery won season 10 of "American Idol."
10. David Archuleta
Finally, my number one "American Idol" alumni, David Archuleta. David Archuleta melted the hearts of America with his sweet and innocent personality and heart-wrenching vocals. When David didn't clench the title of "American Idol" in season 7, too many tears were shed across America (I probably made up half), but David still managed to impress all his fans years later album after album. David Archuleta was runner-up on season 7 of "American Idol."
