Its here, its there! It's everywhere!

What I'm talking about is the new fad, fidget objects. I wouldn't necessarily call them toys like most news and media outlets have been, only because there is a real purpose for them. Now it has been getting a lot of attention lately but mostly bad publicity. There have been cases recently about kids who make dumb choices and play with the fidget objects to the point where it is actually distracting them and the people around them, causing teachers to confiscate them. Declaring them a nuisance, and this causes problems for kids who actually need those objects.

What is a Fidget Cube?

A fidget cube is a small cube object, that has 6 different sides. Each side helps stimulates different physical feelings that help with sensory issues. It is an object that is supposed to be discreet enough to help people focus on their primary objective task. There are many different variations of the fidget cube but they all have one primary objective. It is to help keep people focus who needs something small to keep their hands busy while their minds are at work.

There are 6 sides and about 7 different functions to mimic different feelings and actions. For example, there are a couple of sides that has different ways to make the clicky noise. For example, the joystick side of the fidget cube is to mimic a video game controller, which a lot of people find calming, hence why a lot of people who may have sensory issues or have fidget problems or just anyone with small anxiety it helps them calm down. One side resembles a light switch, and another resembles the clicky part of the pen. Another side has a smooth dipped surface, that is similar to a smooth stone.

You can buy them just about anywhere now. There has been tons of knock offs, even I don't know where the original idea came from. They range about between 3-10$ in most places now. They are relatively cheap so they seem to be everywhere at this point.

What is a fidget spinner?

A fidget spinner is a fidget object that has one primary function, and that is spinning. Now there are many different types of them, but the most popular one is the triad one. A spinner with 3 sides. Those are pretty fun and frankly my favorite out of the fidget objects. Most of them are silent, it depends on what you get because like the fidget cubes there are so many knock-offs nowadays. Some maybe smoother than others and etc. I love the spinning sensation, it keeps my hands busy as well keeping my focus. There are many different metal spinners that are a bit pricier but also really fun to use. A regular spinner will be around 10$ and they can be found in most stores now. The fancier ones will be a little more pricey but they're still the same object.

Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
