It has been awhile since I last wrote. Things have been very….odd. After the battles, we had escaped a werewolf attack. It had taken most of the day to get away from the castle, away from the attack.
Days passed and things had gotten even odder. My father had survived and we had settled down back at the tavern. I worry about him though. If he was in the middle of the attack, then there a chance he was bitten and there was a chance that he was going to turn. All of us tried to collect ourselves, we didn’t know what to do next. Then we found out what we were doing next.
Chad had asked us to visit him. We all sat there in that tiny living room, my spot was seated on the floor and I was perched there. Most of us had tea, and as I sipped it, I found myself to be relaxed more and more. Then, we found that there was a more important reason for us to be there.
Vestiges of Dragonkind, and we would be the ones to find them. Find them and we would be starting a rebellion against The Lady. The first thing we heading after were just outside of town. When we were about ready to head out, we were stopped. Arthur wanted to join us on our outing. I could sense most of the group tense up.
A demigod traveling with us? It was something that most of us were uncomfortable with. What if Arthur got hurt and we couldn’t help him?
Well turns out that I should listen to my thoughts and my guts more.
After goblins and such, Arthur had got himself stabbed. Oh great. I had been in close enough range to dimension door me in there and then take Arthur will me. Just as I had gotten him settled down with healing, I had one last thing to deal with. A bugbear, and it was attacking Moriz.
Necrotic energy built at my fingertips and it hit the creature. Pushing Arthur behind me, I had him safe and the energy connected with the creature. It had taken a moment to collect ourselves, but it resulted in Arthur realizing that he wanted to go home. Couldn’t blame him.
Though he did us a favor. He scryed on Hirador Island for us. Hirador Island where we’d be facing against giant creatures. There was a part of my mind that screamed that this was a death mission.
I needed to leave this mission, but I couldn’t do that to them.
Arthur had set out and we finally just had caught a breath when-
“Well that was quite the display.”
I knew that voice and my heart lept almost forty feet. It was Dijen. We all turned around and what I thought was right. He was there and my gods I needed to find a way to calm my heart. Vyrgav was the first to react with his dispel magic spells. While they weren’t the most helpful, it gave us a bit of time to think.
Quickly, I pulled the others into a huddle and like quickfire, we were trying to measure out if we should tell Dijen about Chad.
I shall write more, but I need my rest for watch tonight.
Rest well, hopefully I will myself.
Goodnight.
