I've been paranoid recently of this world we are living in. Honestly, who isn't? It's inevitable. I was scared to go grocery shopping alone, even though it's something I really needed to do. I'm here to give you some tips on how to feel safer at any time of the day.

Starting with your key lanyard. Buy some pepper spray to clip on it and have it with you at all times. Pepper spray is an easy and fast distraction if you're ever met with a stranger.

Are you walking to your car in the alleyway with no lights on at night? You can buy solar powered walkway lights that go on automatically when somebody walks by! It's good for you so you don't have to shine a flashlight and you can see if anybody's there ahead of time.

Most guys carry a pocket knife, and girls can too! You can have one in your bag, your pocket or keep one in your car!

There are some local shops and websites who make necklaces that look like a regular necklace but actually carry a mini knife for emergencies. I love this one because you know you will be wearing it every day, everywhere you go.

Most tasers are not legal, but if you find the right one, carry it with you! If your college offers self-defense classes, go for it!

It doesn't matter where you live, it's important to be aware of your surroundings. Never go out alone. It's always okay to ask somebody(you know) to walk with you if you EVER feel a little bit unsafe. You cannot be afraid of going out and doing your everyday things and feeling unsafe should not prevent you from going to do something you love to do. Just be secured and aware.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
