Taylor Swift is a lyrical genius.

My Favorite Lyrics From Taylor Swift's New Album: Reputation

I have loved Taylor Swift for as long as I can remember. From her curly haired days of singing about teardrops on her guitar and love stories like Romeo and Juliet to singing about shaking off what people are saying about you and finally the fierce, independent woman who is singing about her reputation; I have loved it all. While I could easily make an article about all the reasons why I think the media is wrong and why Taylor Swift is a great role model, I am not looking for any controversies. Instead, I am going to prepare for her Reputation tour by listing my favorite lyrics from each song on the album.

Reputation

1. ...Ready For It?

“And he can be my jailor, Burton to this Taylor”

2. End Game

“I wanna be your A-team”

“You've been calling my bluff on all my usual tricks / So here's the truth from my red lips”

3. I Did Something Bad

“Crimson red paint on my lips / If a man talks sh*t, then I owe him nothing”

4. Don’t Blame Me

“Don't blame me, love made me crazy / If it doesn't, you ain't doin' it right”

“Halo, hiding my obsession / I once was poison ivy, but now I'm your daisy”

5. Delicate

Bridge: “Sometimes I wonder when you sleep / Are you ever dreaming of me?

Sometimes when I look into your eyes / I pretend you're mine, all the damn time"

6. Look What You Made Me Do

“I've got a list of names and yours is in red, underlined"

7. So It Goes…

“So it goes… / I'm yours to keep / And I'm yours to lose”

8. Gorgeous

“And you are so gorgeous it makes me so mad / You make me so happy it turns back to sad, yeah / There's nothing I hate more than what I can't have / Guess I'll just stumble on home to my cats”

9. Getaway Car

“You were drivin' the getaway car /We were flyin’, but we never get far / Don't pretend it's such a mystery / Think about the place where you first met me"

10. King of My Heart

“Salute to me, I'm your American Queen / And you move to me like I'm a Motown beat”

“Late in the night, the city's asleep / Your love is a secret I'm hoping, dreaming, dying to keep”

11. Dancing With Our Hands Tied

“I'd kiss you as the lights went out / Swaying as the room burned down / I'd hold you as the water rushes in / If I could dance with you again”

12. Dress

“Say my name and everything just stops / I don't want you like a best friend”

13. This Is Why We Can’t Have Nice Things

“Everyone swimming in a champagne sea / And there are no rules when you show up here / Bass beat rattling the chandelier / Feeling so Gatsby for that whole year”

14. Call It What You Want

“My baby's fit like a daydream / Walking with his head down / I'm the one he's walking to”

15. New Year’s Day

“Hold on to the memories, they will hold on to you”

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
