7 Millenial Fashion Trends Your Traditional Parents May Not Understand

Fashion is an evolving field, and though we can keep up with it, our parents may not be able to.

The fashion industry is a never-ending change. There is always a new pop trend that shows up and causes chaos in the world of teens. However, even though we as teenagers move fast with these trends, our parents don't as much. They tend to get stuck. That is also okay, I mean everyone is comfortable with what they are used to wearing. Who knows maybe in a few years we will be the ones who are clueless about what to wear.

1. Colored Hair

Colored hair is a big one among the adults. They seem to not understand that we like to be ourselves and our black or brown or blond hair does not allow us to do that. We like individuality and can show that through the color of our hair.

2. Ripped Jeans

Ripped jeans. This is one thing that I believe all the parents do not like at all. I know whenever I want to buy ripped jeans that is a quick not-even-going-to-think-about-it-no from my parents.

3. Wearing Leggings as Pants

Wearing leggings as pants is a very comfortable thing that many of us enjoy doing, but our parents do not enjoy seeing us in them. Many parents ask why we are wearing leggings to school, but the reality is that they are comfortable.

4. Crop Tops

"Why are you showing your skin?! Go change!!" That is what we hear when we even step foot downstairs wearing a shirt that shows our belly. We cannot show our skin; it is as if that is an omen.

5. Messy Buns

Okay girls, raise your hands if you are tired of having picture perfect hair everyday. I know I am, and the solution to that is making a bun. These buns are so comfortable it is amazing.

6. Cold Shoulder Shirts

Cold shoulder tops are a no no because apparently others will get distracted by our shoulders. The reality is that does not even happen and that explanation does not actually make sense. Cold shoulder tops are cute, but they are not completely approved by parents.

7. The Plethora of Rings

Rings: they are so pretty, but "Why should we cover our fingers?" and "They get in the way of everything!" is what we hear. Also, sometimes we hear about how they should be saved for only weddings. I do not think parents completely understand that times have changed and rings are not just reserved for weddings.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
