For us Potterheads, the arrival of the newest trailer for "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them" gave us many, many feels. It's been five years since a "Harry Potter" movie was released, and although "Fantastic Beasts" is just a spin-off film, even the slightest reference to the familiar world of wizardry we've missed for so long is enough to get us excited beyond words.
When the Warner Brothers symbol came on with that familiar blue smoke.
Let's face it, it's been way too long since we've seen this image so this alone was enough to get us pumped, and the trailer hadn't even started yet.
The first mention of Hogwarts.
Literally more excited than the first-year Gryffindors at their first Quidditch match.
And the first mention of Dumbledore.
We can't. We simply can't.
Not to mention Eddie Redmayne's beautiful, freckly face.
He'll be playing the lead, Newt Scamander, in "Fantastic Beasts" and we are not complaining. With his reddish-brown hair, freckles and gangly-limbed body, it's surprising he hasn't already been casted as a Weasley in a previous film.
The music. The "Harry Potter" music.
I hardly need to give its title, "Hedwig's Theme," because you're already humming every note perfectly in your head. This was really the true indicator that this is not a drill, it's not a prank, there is actually another "Harry Potter" film coming out. And the thought of that makes us want to "dance the hippogriff" with Dumbledore.
Seeing J.K. Rowling's name on the big screen again.
All hail the queen. Remember when she claimed there would never be another "Harry Potter" story back in 2007? Yeah, me too. But we knew she couldn't stay away just as much as we can't, and the fact she actually wrote the story gives us even more hope about how amazing this will be.
And if seeing a phoenix doesn't remind you of Fawkes, are you even a "Harry Potter" fan?
This is just one of the many magical creatures we'll be introduced to in this film, and whether it's intentional or not, it's nice to have a small homage being paid to Fawkes, who is Dumbledore's phoenix, if you need a reminder.
Safe to say, November cannot come soon enough.
Us too, Harry. Us too.
The "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them" trailer definitely gave Potter fans life and couldn't have delivered better. It had the perfect balance of old references to keep us happy, and new aspects to get us excited.
