My family can be described using a substantial vocabulary. There are many words I could use to describe my family. However, I am going to describe my family using Harry Potter characters. Why? Because I am a Potterhead and my brothers use to take me to see the movies in our pajama's and they are also Potterheads. So I guess you can say my older brothers inspired this one and introduced me to all things Harry Potter. Let's get started.

Hagrid

My father would be Hagrid because he is protective over his family and animals are naturally drawn to him. My father is very goofy and a tad eccentric. But he would clean your car without being asked and he finds joy in things that most people do not even realize or think about. No matter how terrible the situation is, he can find the sense of humor in anything.

Molly Weasley

My mother is loving and will put her children and grandchildren first (she loves my dad, but you know children). She is a worry-wart at heart, but that is only because she cares and remains optimistic for all of us. Also, she is the first person who will get excited for you when something astonishing happens. My mother is punctual, the head organizer and always ready to re-clean something that we cleaned because we most likely did not clean her way,

Harry and Ginny

This duo is definitely my oldest brother and my sister in law! Why? Because my brother is brave and insightful. My sister-in-law is clever and kind. They both make perfect Gryffindor's. They are both loyal and will always be there for one another. No matter what will happen, they will always fight for what they believe in and will not take a no for an answer.

Ron and Hermione

The other Potter duo is my older brother and my other sister in law! With his caring demeanor and her knowledgeable demeanor, they might seem like total opposites, but they would fight for each other trough it all and are incredibly ambitious. They encourage each other and seize each day with a good attitude. They are the perfect match.

Luna Lovegood

That is right, I would be Luna. The quirky one, who wears brightly-colored clothes and is friends with the most interesting people/creatures. The one who is the damsel-in-distress and always needs saving and is a wee-bit ditzy. But hey she does end up with her prince charming in the end.

Also because I feel bad for not having characters for my nephew and nieces, I would like to write in here that the first character I thought of for them would be Dobby: the adorable and the well-loved house elf! The only difference is that they are a lot cuter than an elf!

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
