When I was little, before my brothers were born, I had a dog. I don't remember how old either of us was when I got him, but I loved him. Unfortunately, he was hit by a car and I lost him. A few years later, my grandmother got me another puppy. Unlucky for me, this puppy had the same fate as the first. After going through both of these losses, my brothers were born, and there was just too much going on for our family to have another dog.
Within the last few weeks, the family made the big decision to adopt a new member and welcome a puppy into the family. He's just a puppy so he's definitely a handful. He has to be watched 24/7, he needs attention, he always wants to play and he has to go on walks like every 30 minutes.
However, he brings so much joy to everyone too.
In the wise words of a fourteen-year-old boy, everyone should grow up with a dog.
The puppy barks a lot, he plays and he runs around like a chicken with his head cut off, but deep down, we all know he's been a blessing.
When you give a family a dog, you give them a new friend. Yes, he's a pain to deal with sometimes, but your fur baby will always be there for you. He'll be loyal and loving until he grows old.
When you give a family a puppy, you give them a protector, a buddy, an entertainer, but most importantly, a best friend.
A puppy is more than just a pet to take care of. This puppy is part of the family.
P.S. National Puppy Day is March 23, so don't forget to love your pups!!
