Like many children growing up in Massachusetts, my second home was down the Cape. Cape Cod, Massachusetts is a beautiful place to be, but my absolute favorite place in the Cape would have to be Falmouth. I luckily grew up in a Cape house right down the street from Falmouth Heights Beach in Worcester Court with my cousin's Cape house right next door. Unfortunately, due to tough times, my family will no longer be able to keep their houses. After losing one of them years ago, it breaks my heart to see my cousin's place being sold. I still will always come back to Falmouth for visits, vacations and day trips throughout my life, but it won't be exactly the same. As a kid, Falmouth was my adventure land, and now as an adult I fondly look back at those memories and know that Falmouth will always be my safe haven. If you are lucky enough to go to the Cape in the summertime, I highly recommend Falmouth to you.

Places to visit in Falmouth:

1. Falmouth Heights Beach

Come relax down in Falmouth at the beach. It's nice and clean with beautiful views of the islands across the ocean. Enjoy an ice cream or snacks with your toes in the sand or walk across the street to enjoy the British Beer Company's delicious menu.

2. Paul's Pizza

This gem is an amazing restaurant offering delicious seafood and pizza. Try a cup of their clam chowder or a unique desert like apple (pie) pizza.

3. Ferry to Martha's Vineyard

If you feel like taking a day trip to a cute little island, Martha's Vineyard is your place! The Island Queen Ferry will get you there in less than 30 minutes. Martha's Vineyard contains tons of cute shops, restaurants, and the oldest carousel, The Flying Horses.

4. Cape Cod Style

Brands like The Black Dog, Vineyard Vines and stores like Soft as a Grape thrive down in the Cape and all those shops can be found in Falmouth.

5. Woodshole

Come check out the little (free!) aquarium in Woodshole. There is also a drawbridge, port, shops and a ferry as well. It is a cute little town with awesome bike and walking paths.

6. Nobska Lighthouse

The beautiful lighthouse near Woodshole is an amazing sight to see and take pictures of. The point of the lighthouse gives you a beautiful view of the ocean and the coast: a priceless photo-op and lovely historic site.

7. Fourth of July

The fun-filled Fourth is basically a big beach party followed by spectacular fireworks on the beach. Cars line the streets and grass for miles. Many will even ask to pay to park on lawns or driveways of your Cape house.

8. Falmouth Road Race

The road race is basically a holiday in Falmouth. The tents, runners, food, beach and lemonade stands make it even better. As a kid you can make a killing for a good lemonade stand - trust me, I know from experience.

9. Seafood Fine Dining

Places like the Flying Bridge make the road trip down there worth it. Lobster or clam chowder from somewhere else will never compare.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
