Well y'all, it's the most wonderful time of the year again!!! -and no, I don't mean Christmas- Despite my slight bias from being a Christmas baby, I absolutely love fall! The colors, the crispness of the air, the fashion trends, THE COMFORT FOOD. What's not to love?! Not to mention all the cute fall and Halloween decorations! Plus, Hocus Pocus and Halloweentown are constantly showing on TV (judge me). I've always been a sucker for the hoodie and jeans outfit, and it just so happens that it's a signature fall go-to.
My absolute favorite part about fall is turning my heated blanket on just barely warm, lighting my pumpkin apple candles (omg), and watching endless Halloween movies. It's even better when my friends join and we have a giant snug sesh with hot apple cider and cute pj's!! I also love that it's Halloweekends time at Cedar Point, I LOVE haunted houses, but I hate scary movies; I'm weird. The drive to Cedar Point is almost half the fun though; it's gorgeous, lined with every fall-colored leaf imaginable! Especially when the drive leads us closer to Lake Erie, and it's a gloomy day so it adds to the eerie effect of Halloweekends (how punny)!
The comfort food.... oh my lanta, don't even get me started!! My mom makes her signature chili every time the temperature drops below 65 degrees and I could cry tears of joy because her chili is so yummy. I'm not just saying it because she's my mom either, she's won chili cook-off competitions! Go momma! But in all honesty, my mom makes the best comfort food so this time of year is my favorite time to eat! Even though that means I have to force myself to go a little harder at the gym to eat all the great food... Ya win some, ya lose some. I'll always bite the bullet on working out for hours on end if it means I can eat all the comfort food I want without having to worry about being able to button my pants, on the flip side though, that is what sweatpants are for.... I'm just sayin'.
Not to mention, it's football season. I don't know what it is about the Friday night lights of high school football, or the college football game days, but I love it! Boys of Fall by Kenny Chesney is constantly on repeat in my mind. There's just something about the thrill of the competition, tailgating with friends and family, and the unpredictable outcome of who is headed to playoffs, football season is the best!
Regardless, I adore fall. The weather is perfect and the rainy days make the best cuddle days. I can wear a XXL sweatshirt without judgmental stares, because people think I look warm and cozy instead of frumpy, it's glorious! The one thing I could care less about during fall is pumpkin spice anything, yuck. Not a fan. Pumpkin pie is great, even certain pumpkin rolls are good too, but pumpkin spiced coffee or desserts or body care, hard pass.
Where my fall-lovin' homies at?!
