These 11 Gifs Perfectly Describe How New Englanders Feel When Fall Rolls Around

Fall, aka autumn, in New England is arguably one of the most beautiful sites. When the leaves start to change colors, the foliage is breathtaking. Fall brings a lot of mixed emotions to the people of New England. Our king, Tom Brady, is back in action, but at the same time, our beautiful beaches are no longer the place to be. Apple picking, Halloween, sweater weather, Thanksgiving and all that fall has to offer are things that people look forward to all year long. However, as seasons change we hate to see the old one go. And the anticipation of seasons to come can be hard to cope with.

1. The first day that's not 90+ degrees

Going from weather in the high 90s to low 70s is a harsh contrast that no one is ever fully ready for. We may have spent all summer complaining about the heat, but we never said we wanted to be "freezing."

2. See you later, summer!

When the temperatures begin to drop, we know that the sweet, sweet summertime has to say good-bye. The start of fall comes hand in hand with cooler weather and do I dare say the "S" word? School.

3. Realizing pumpkin spice is back...

Not everything that comes with fall is all that bad, though. Just think, apple cider, hot chocolate, and all things pumpkin spice are back in stock. Woohoo!

4. & with pumpkin spice season comes "spooky season"...

Pumpkin carving, halloween movies, candy and, of course, halloween Oreos, are some of the best things about the season.

5. ... and sweater weather!

It's time to get comfy & cozy. Bundling up in your favorite sweater, sipping on hot cider and enjoying the foliage... there's not much better than that.

6. Don't forget about apple picking!

The orchards will be in full bloom in no time. Who's excited for apple pie?

7. Thanksgiving is just around the corner

Speaking of pie...

8. Who doesn't love football season?

For many families Thanksgiving and football go hand in hand. Lucky for the fans, though, the season starts right at the brink of fall. We've got a few wonderful months full of football ahead of us. (Go Pats!)

9. Remembering that winter is fast approachingĀ

With all the excitement of fall we can get a bit caught up and forget that it will only last for a very brief amount of time. When we come to that realization, it's a terrifying feeling.

10. Winter brings the good, the bad & the ugly

The snow is beautiful and all, but shoveling? Forget about it.

11. Just a few weeks ago when it was just simply "too hot"

But it's all OK, because we think back to just a few weeks ago when it was just simply "too hot." This serves as a reminder that the seasons go by quickly. We'll be back to melting under the summer sun in no time. For now, we'll just enjoy the fall and make the best out of messy New England winters!

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
