As we settle into October and the weather begins to drop, I am feeling very rejuvenated from my summer funk. After months of sweltering heat in Oklahoma, Fall is finally swooping in and saving all of us from our misery. The walks across campus were becoming unbearable; I was drenched in sweat from head to toe, but the hero we needed is finally here. There are so many aspects that make Fall arguably the most loved season; there are only a few of them:

1. The leavesĀ

I don't know about you, but I prefer red, orange, and yellow leaves over green ones. Everything is so picturesque in Fall.

2. The weather

So long to the days of looking like I'm in pain after a brisk walk to class. Hello to cool breezes and cloudy days.

3. Halloween

Who doesn't love Halloween and all the spookiness it entails?

4. The outfits

Summer's clothing options are probably my least favorite thing about the season. In Fall, you can throw a cardigan over everything to tie your outfit together and look effortlessly cute. Layering is a godsend.

5. Thanksgiving

Fall has the best holidays. I mean we get Halloween AND Thanksgiving? This is too much.

6. The food

In addition to having Thanksgiving, Fall also comes with soup and chili weather. Sure you can eat soup in the summer, but it's SO MUCH BETTER in Fall.

7. NO MORE BUGS

The bug population begins to diminish when the cooler weather hits, and for that I am forever thankful.

8. The activities

Pumpkin patches, corn mazes, carving pumpkins, apple-picking, leave-collecting, simply enjoying the cooler weatherā€”there are so many things to do in Fall.

9. Midterms are behind us (almost)

Where has the semester gone? After midterms the rest of the semester flies by.

10. It's just the best, okay?

Fall is beautiful and a great time to get out, enjoy, and explore the world around youā€”do it!

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
