There is no better Place than the North Fork of Long Island if you are looking to have some fall themed fun. As a local, I can offer you the inside scoop on where to go for all of the fall treats you are looking for. For anyone looking for a cute fall day with your significant other or some close friends, I would absolutely recommend taking the trip out to the North Fork. The idyllic scenes, cool sea breezes, multitude of farm stands, and growing restaurant scene create the perfect ambiance for fall adventures and gorgeous photo ops!

Woodside Orchards

We all love to pick apples, but if you want to add a little fun to this classic fall activity Woodside Orchards in Aquebogue offers hard cider and an array of pies and other treats.

Hallock's Cider Mill

Every one loves a good cup of cider especially when it is served with a slice of pumpkin bread and Hallock's Cider Mill in Laurel provides both. They have a huge selection of homemade baked goods making this a vital stop on your way out east.

Schmitt's Country Fresh

Schmitt's farm in Laurel offers plenty of farm fresh veggies, fall plants and a huge corn maze, but the best part of a trip to this farm stand is the pies. They are homemade and absolutely delicious!

Love Lane Kitchen

Starting off the day right is so important and breakfast is the perfect way to do that. Love Lane Kitchen in Mattituck is my favorite breakfast spot and this fall they are offering sweet potato hash and apple pancakes. If you are looking for some fall themed breakfast that jumpstart the day, this is the place for you.

Legends Restaurant

In the fall it is only natural to want pumpkin flavored everything, so to satisfy your sweet tooth, Legend's restaurant in New Suffolk offers a pumpkin cheesecake that is out of this world. If you are looking for something a little stronger, they also offer a Pumpkin Martini and an array of fall themed drinks.

Wickham's Farm Stand

One of the most sought after baked goods is apple cider doughnuts and I know where to find the absolute best. Wickham's farm bakes fresh cider doughnuts every day and once the weather gets colder keeps them warm on a wood stove. Nothing compares to the recipe they have, once you have had a Wickham's doughnut every other cider doughnut tastes like a grocery store knock off.

Krupski's Farm

The haunted corn maze at Krupski's farm in Cutchogue is perfect for those of you that are looking for a good scare or even the perfect pumpkin. They have a huge pumpkin patch and go all out with the Halloween decorations making this a perfect spot for photo ops.

North Fork Roasting Company

If the air gets a little too chilly, you can warm up at the North Fork Roasting company with a cup of coffee or even a chai tea. The specialize in small batch coffee that is rich in flavor and have an eclectic cozy vibe.

American Beech Restaurant

After all of this fall fun you will need to eat a great meal and American Beech in Greenport offers a seasonal, local, farm to table menu that will never disappoint.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
