Fall 2015 Fashion Trends

This past holiday weekend has been named the unofficial end of summer, and while I’ll miss lying by the pool all day, I couldn’t be more excited for the cool weather to come. Fall is my favorite time of the year, and not because it means pumpkin spice lattes are back. For me, it’s all about the fashion. Sweaters and scarves and leggings, oh my! In case you don’t stalk fashion week videos and photos like I do, I’ve put together a list of all of the top trends that walked the runways for the fall season. Some pieces you may find hard to incorporate into your everyday wardrobe, but others are must-haves to wear this fall.

Car Wash Skirts

This creative piece is similar to fringe, but with larger cuts, looking like something you would see while getting your car washed. If you get the chance to wear this fun skirt, I would suggest pairing it with a nice solid-colored blouse to really make the skirt stand out.

Chunky Knits

The bigger the sweater, the better. Any thick-knit, chunky, oversized sweater will work for this fall trend. I personally love large sweaters, so I’m extremely excited that my too-big-for-me sweaters are now considered fashionable.

Patterned Tights

When the weather starts to cool down, but you still want to wear a dress, tights are the perfect solution. And this season, it’s also a fashion statement. Dark colors and geometric patterns will add the perfect touch of flair to your outfit.

Large Pockets

From dresses to skirts, the pocket made its appearance in the fall runway shows. Designers have decided that the size of pockets should be drastically increased, making both a statement and putting the extra space to good use.

High-Waisted Pants

The waist-line is going far above the belly button this season, giving high-waisted pants a whole new meaning. This trend gives the allusion that your legs are longer than they seem, and if you tuck in your top, will give you a waist to die for.

Head-to-Toe Black

This is definitely one of my favorite trends this fall. Black is my personal preference when it comes to clothing because it always looks chic and you can pair anything with it. This season though, try only wearing black. If you’ve never done it before, I suggest wearing black leather leggings with a black sweater and boots. It’s simple and easy to do, but still fashion forward.

The Slip Dress

Usually known for going underneath, this piece is making its way to be the center of attention this fall. With delicate, silk material, this dress will be both comfy and chic as you walk the streets of your city.

Statement Earrings

If you love accessorizing, then you are sure to love this trend. Huge, bold earrings are all the rage this fall, and it is super easy to wear them with any type of outfit. You are sure to make a statement if you choose to add this to your fall wardrobe.

The Puffer Coat

This clothing item is not new to us, but thinking of it as a fashion trend may seem a little strange to most. However, this isn’t your typical snow-blocking type of jacket anymore. This fall, anything is fair game. With interesting cuts, bold colors, and unique patterns, this piece is sure to keep you both warm and stylish when the cold temperatures arrive.

White Blouse

The simple white blouse is always on trend, especially this season. Find one that fits your personal style, whether that is ruffled sleeves or bowties on the neck. This top will look perfect with any type of bottom this fall.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
