Late Night Barbs Experiences

Can I get queso with that?

Late Night Barbs Experiences

It’s Thursday, so you know what that means. The students of Georgia College are all filled with joy because the one and only Barberitos is open late night.

Unlike Friday night when it's not open, putting a damper on everyone's night while settling with Golden Pantry. But as Saturday night comes around, Barbs is at it again! Once you finally arrive, you find yourself trapped outside, frantically attempting to open a door with no doorknob. You finally get in and are hit by that distinct Barbs aroma. You hop in the endless line towards the back bathrooms and prepare yourself to overhear conversations juicier than the burrito you'll shortly engulf.

A typical Thursday always includes a girl crying, while classically asking "Why doesn't he like me?"

But is she talking about her lover or the Barbs worker who forgot her queso?

While the guy in the bathroom thinks he's been in there for 2 minutes, he has really been in there for 20 and is now holding up a line outside the door.

.

Then of course while that awkward couple thinks they are fighting in a low voice, everyone can hear them fighting about him buying a different girl a drink.

But then they start making out in the middle of the line??

While waiting anxiously in line, you suddenly feel the need to throw up.

You turn to the person behind you and beg them to hold your spot, telling them you will return shortly. You hop back in line just in time to order. You turn behind you to see there are more people in line than before.

You think you may have spotted the fedora guy, but realize it's actually the creepy guy that tried to dance with you at Capital.

Everything is going great then the workers break the news, "Sorry we are out of sour cream."

You look at him in disgust, but decide to put the situation behind you by checking out and heading to the salsa counter. Once there you're distraught to see that the chipotle ranch is out but are informed by a worker that it is hidden behind their counter, away from drunk thieves.

After you finish your food, you look over only to find your drunk friend asleep in his bowl of chips.

You try to wake them up, but there is nothing you can do. They chose to sleep there, so that's what they'll do.

Once the night is ending and you're trying to figure out your way home, you realize you forgot about the best part of GCSU, SNAP!

You are walking towards your pickup location, hoping they will take you home even though you never called. But suddenly the savior of all things appears. Hydro Love giving you the best water you will drink your entire life.

Finally, SNAP gives you a ride home, you lay in your bed and think about how delicious your Barbs burrito was. Barbs late nights may be the best decision ever by the city of Milledgeville. Not only do these nights provide plenty of business for the restaurant, but they also bring joy to every person's heart. From the good, the bad and the ugly, the memories accumulated from late night Barbs will forever be engrained in our minds. And with that, we say thank you to the employees, to the franchise, and to the best damn burrito in Milledgeville.

See you next weekend Barbs.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
