Growing up as a kid, Pixar movies were something I have always looked forward to. Once Disney purchased Pixar back in 2006, Disney has become an icon for a wide variety of movies. Disney films main target audience may be children, but their movies are enjoyed by all ages. When "Finding Nemo" came out back in May of 2003, it was an instant hit. Serving as one of my favorite Pixar movies, it was hard to believe that there was no sequel for it. However, on July 17, 2016, movie lovers everywhere will finally get the film they have all been waiting for, a sequel now known as "Finding Dory."
There are plenty of popular Pixar movies out there, but there was something about "Finding Nemo" that left you wanting more. Not only was the story line exhilarating, but also the creativity is what makes it a one of a kind. As a kid, the scenery alone was completely breathtaking. Exploring the depths of the ocean and seeing the different creatures and colors was astonishing as a little kid. However, as an adult, you can fully appreciate the movie as well. Throwing in a mixture of comedy, adventure and even some heartfelt moments is what made it such an all around movie. "Finding Nemo" did such a good job of grasping the viewer’s attention; it was as if you went along on the ride with Dory and Marlin on the search for Nemo.
There has not been too much information released about the movie but there is a brief description of the plot. The setting takes place a few months after the events of the first film and Dory suddenly remembers her childhood. She sets out to find her family accompanied by Marlin and his son, Nemo. Other characters that make a reappearance in the second film are Mr. Ray, Crush, and Squirt. There are also other creatures from the sea that are seen for the first time. Some of these new characters come into contact with Dory when she arrived at the Monterey Marine Life Institute. This is where she meets Bailey, a white beluga whale, Hank, an octopus who becomes her guide and Destiny, a whale shark.
Overall, I’m very excited for the release of "Finding Dory." This film is way overdue and it’s about time that we all get the sequel that we have been waiting for. It’s hard to say if this film will be better than "Finding Nemo," but the stakes are set pretty high and people are anticipating it to be another hit. Even if it’s half as good as the first, it can very well be considered an awesome movie. Personally, I expect it to get very high ratings. I have heard that people already purchased their tickets for opening night and most movie theaters have already sold out of tickets. It’s safe to say that Pixar has come out with yet another great movie that will be enjoyed by millions.
