Finals week; the two words that every student dreads hearing. No tv show or movie can accurately showcase how exactly chaotic and stressful that this time of the year is for college students everywhere. You're trying to study a whole semesters worth of material for multiple classes at the same time all in a week. On top of that Christmas is around the corner so you're also trying to think of what presents to get your loved ones and friends. You're trying to possibly find a job over break or if you still have a job, you're dreading working those Christmas hours. Overall, you're running off of 2 hours of sleep and multiple cups of coffee (if you're me). You feel like you won't make it.

But you will.

During finals week, it's important to keep in mind that those exams do not define you. It may feel like they do but they don't. One test does not accurately show how intelligent you are. With as much stress as you're under, even if you are a straight A student, it's quite possible that you won't do as well as you hoped. It's important that you don't get discouraged if you don't end up with the grade that you hoped for. Because remember, that exam does not define you or determine who you are.

You are uniquely you, never forget that

We can't be perfect. We're human, we make mistakes, stay up late crying over stupid matters, we run off of 2 hours of sleep, and stress until our hair falls out. We procrastinate until the last minute and then complain that we have too much to do in such little time. So keep this in mind during finals week. You can't always make the grade you want or ace every test. You will fail, you'll succeed, and you'll be everywhere in between. These tests are only a small wrinkle in the fabric of your life. During finals week take care of yourself, study but don't study till the point of insanity. Throw some fun in there too. If you go to the gym if you like doing that. Or maybe watch some of your favorite Netflix shows.

You've got this, I believe in you.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
