Everything You Need to Know About This Condition

As temperatures rise and the sun seems to be spending more and more time in front of the clouds, students across the nation are suffering from a condition known best as Spring Fever. While students tend to find relief from their symptoms by the end of the school year, they must continue with their day to day routines and responsibilities until that last final is complete. The fever can drastically influence students' study habits and, in serious cases, dramatically lower their final grades.

Some of the most common symptoms of Spring Fever include:

-A desperate desire to study outside, read outside, and/or just be outside

-An inability to think about anything other than the beach

-A constant battle leaving students torn between skipping class or sitting on the Quad

-Frequently chasing after the Mr. Softee truck for a popsicle or ice cream cone

There have been many discussions and debates on how to go about protecting the student body from this condition, but doctors have not been able to come to a conclusion on what is the best method to curing the fever. While there has been no official consensus, many doctors believe the only possibly way to cure this condition completely is to wait it out until your symptoms disappear and no longer affect your studies. There are, fortunately, some home remedies students can try to use to reduce their symptoms.

Some home remedies suggested by doctors to decrease the intensity of symptoms include:

-Asking your professor to hold class outside

-Spending as much free time in the sun as possible (wearing sunscreen, of course)

-Drinking a cool, tall glass of homemade iced tea or freshly squeezed lemonade

-Socializing with friends and peers

-Dressing in light and comfortable clothes so you never miss the feeling of the spring breeze

If you believe you or a loved one may be suffering from Spring Fever, it is crucial that you remember your condition will cure itself by the end of the academic year. For now, just hang in there and try some home remedies. Feel better and good luck on finals! :)

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
