After years of speculation and rumors, "Fallout 4" was released on November 10, 2015.
The "Fallout" franchise has been going strong for about 17 years now. There have been a total of six titles released leading up to one of the most anticipated games in history—"Fallout 4."
"Fallout 4" is set in post-apocalyptic Boston, Massachusetts, which was destroyed by nuclear war. The United States is in a period called the “Great War,” which leads to a nuclear exchange that destroys many U.S. cities leading to the setting of "Fallout."
Numerous innovations were added to the game, while some old features from previous games stayed in the new entry in the "Fallout" series.
A four-legged companion greeted the gamer in the "Fallout 4." You will have a dog to aid in your journey across the wasteland. “Dogmeat cannot die in 'Fallout 4',” said Todd Howard. Todd Howard is the current game director and executive producer at Bethesda Game Studios. This feature excites many gamers due to the fact that in past games, Dogmeat could and typically died.
"Fallout 4" also contained V.A.T.S. (Vault-Tec Assisted Targeting System). V.A.T.S. is a targeting system that allows players to shoot specific body parts on enemies they will encounter in the Wasteland. This system allows for a cinematic combat experience that allows for players to be drawn into the gameplay.
A new feature to "Fallout 4" will be a complete settlement building system. You can set up power, build buildings, and program electronics.
"Fallout 4" was one of the most trending topics during the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3), which is considered the biggest video game event each year.
Many gamers were and are still excited about "Fallout 4," and they have many reasons to be. Todd Howard said, “The time and technology have allowed us to be more ambitious than ever. We’ve never been more excited about a game, and we can’t wait to share it.”
