Everything Happens In Its Own Time, So Stop Wasting Your Time Looking At Other People's Clocks

We often see life through the lens of a NASCAR race.

When the people next to you are speeding forward, foot on the gas with little regard, effortlessly propelling forward, but you're still struggling to buckle your seat belt, it seems like you're being outpaced in every sense. You're pit-stop takes longer, and without realizing, everyone else is back on the race track and you're still refilling your gas tank. And soon, you feel like you're being lapped, and the final lap flag seems to be nowhere in sight. What you may not realize is that everything happens in its own time.

We all cross the finish line, whether it's at the same pace or not.

But it's easier to say that than to really believe it right?

Reminding yourself that everything has its own time, means forgiving yourself when you feel like you're behind, and celebrating yourself when you push forward. It means knowing that everything becomes what it is meant to be when it is meant to be.

Butterflies hatch in three weeks but it takes ninety-five weeks for an elephant to be born. It takes Jupiter twelve years to orbit the sun, while it only takes Mercury eighty-eight days. JK Rowling's 'Harry Potter' series was rejected 12 times before it was published. Some things take more time than others, but that doesn't mean they don't come to fruition.

Like flowers, we'll all bloom eventually.

So trust the timing of your own life, but don't use anyone else's watch to do so. Check your own, push yourself forward, and know that your path is different than everyone else's. Realize that some things don't go according to plan. That what you thought might be a small bump in the road may turn out to be a bigger obstacle. It may take more time, but that doesn't mean you won't overcome it.

You end up where you're supposed to be, with who you're supposed to be with, when it's supposed to happen. Breathe, find your peace, and let your progress progress.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
