When someone has a beautiful and powerful voice people, gather around to listen to stand amazed at the fluid rhythms coming out of their mouths. They possess a talent that makes people feel not only happy, but even deeper feelings. The way they sing it and what they are singing about might touch someone out in the world who is going through a time in their life where it is perfectly explained by a song. Now with all that said, Grace VanderWaal is one singer who has the power to inspire everyone, and not just with her incredible voice.

If you don't know who she is, I encourage you to look her up and watch her audition on "America's Got Talent." A cute little 12-year-old girl with a ukulele packs a powerful punch with her original song. Now, her voice is very unique and some people might not like it, but personally I get chills every time she opens her mouth. Anyways, it is what her song has to say that people should really pay attention to.

At the beginning of it she sings about how she doesn't know her name. She doesn't know who she should be, but all she knows is that she does not want to follow society's rules. She does not want to go along with what everyone else is doing, but she hasn't really found herself yet so she is almost stuck being nothing. In the process of being stuck she is just trying to stay afloat basically. She is trying to find her name and be who she is.

Many people struggle with this and not just 12-year-olds. A person of any age can still struggle with figuring out their place in the world. They do not want to be of the world, but they do not know how to live as their own person either. Grace presented the world with what everyone has difficulty discovering, but they never admit to it. She said what everyone else was thinking.

You will do some crazy things when you try to figure out who you are, for example cutting your hair, just like Grace did. People will transform themselves completely in order to find out what works for them. Then other people will question your actions because most likely the way you change yourself is into something that is not commonly seen in society.

As a result, you go into a downward spiral. You seem to feel lost in a big ocean, like Grace says. She doesn't want to answer any more questions about who she is or who she wants to be, because she is trying.

Then one day something will happen where you are finally confident in yourself. It is different for everyone and it happens at different times. You could meet someone who makes you realize that you are special or you finally find a style that represents who you are. You still may not know where you are going in life or what your purpose is, but at least you know you are who you are for a reason.

You now know your name and you flaunt it because you are proud of the person you are. People will still make rude comments and tell you that you went down the wrong path, but in your heart you believe that you are the best person you can be. They will say you stopped trying and just settled. No, you are still trying to find your way in life, but you are doing it with a confidence that was never there before.

So, thank you Grace. Thank you for speaking your mind and feelings that many people are just thinking. You are an amazing singer in my opinion and your song should inspire everyone to keep trying to find their purpose, but to do it with the confidence that they are their own person and no one else is just like them.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
