Everyone Needs A Mag

The best friend a girl could ask for.

14
Everyone Needs A Mag
Moira

Everyone needs a Mag. She's the friend that dances like nobody (or anybody) is watching. She's the friend that doesn't always answer your texts right away because she lives fully in the vibrant world she has created. She's the friend that reminds you what a good listener is, because she is a pro. She's the friend that puts things in such simple terms but inspires worlds of thought you'd never imagined before. She's your Maggie, but she is not a spirit that really belongs to anyone but herself.

Mag is bright. She reminds you to dance and sing and laugh and plunge into your emotions. She lets you know its okay to cast off embarrassment and that being authentic shouldn't make you blush. When you're with your Mag you feel whole. Your face hurts from smiling.

Mag asks good questions. She's such a good listener. We as normal people talk about ourselves a lot. Mag likes to ask about you. Mag wants to know if you're ticklish. Mag wants to know your thought processes. When you don't know what to do, she is the guru that asks the questions and your answers point to the direction you need. When you're upset, she wants to know all of your feelings and how they came up, and you reply to her without even knowing you had the answers.

Mag is a realist and an optimist. She knows the world is a good place. She trusts the Universe. She believes in you and herself. She also knows that the world isn't perfect, and that the Universe wants you to put in the work. She can help you spell out your situation, assess your problems and still be positive about outcomes that aren't always the best.

Mag has never done you wrong. She has so much of the world to ponder and conquer and she is giving out endless love and good energy, yet she still takes the time to love you. She's a free spirit but she always comes back to you to tell her stories. She never forgets you. She never slips your secrets. When you rant about a friend, she has only good and honest words to say about that person.

Maggie is a little untouchable, she's like Venus, or the Moon. She can disappear in her thought or in her space for a while but when she comes back out, you race outside to meet her. She lives on Mount Olympus, her own castle that she has created. Her world isn't perfect, but she made it all herself so it is full of love and light, and I'm lucky that my Mag invites me up so often. Everyone needs a Mag. Everyone needs a friend this pure.

Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
