It's out with the old and in with the new!

As the year of 2017 starts to take everybody by storm, here are a few things to pay attention to. Although I can not predict the future, I chose what I think will be the three most important events of the 2017.

1. Donald Trump's Inauguration

On Friday, January 20th, Donald Trump will assume office as the 45th President of the United States, marking the return of a Republican to the Presidential office as well as the first time in history when the House of Representatives, Senate, and Presidency will all be mainly controlled by the Republican Party. This also marks the end of the eight year office of President Barack Obama, Vice President Joe Biden, and quite possibly the best First Lady the White House has ever seen: Michelle Obama.

BOSS: MICHELLE OBAMA

We'll miss you guys!

2. Total Solar Eclipse

On August 21st, the Sun and the Moon will engage in a Total Solar Eclipse, a phase in which the moon will gradually line up with the sun, and at one point, it will completely cover the sun, thrusting the Earth into temporary darkness. If you live in the United States you may be able to see parts of the eclipse, however it will depend on where you live (there will not be another one until 2024!). Check this website to see if you may be able to look at the Eclipse: http://www.eclipse2017.org/2017/path_through_the_U...

3. Star Wars Episode VIII

Following the recent losses of both Carrie Fisher and her mother, Debbie Reynolds, Star Wars fans will be happy to hear that they will be able to see her for a last time in the eighth installment of the series. Episode 8, which was previously planned to be released in the middle of 2018, is now due to release on December 15th instead, so we don't have to wait more than a year from now to see it (although it's still a long ways away.)

RIP Carrie & Debbie

You both will be missed!

Other Good Movies to Look Out For in 2017:

- Hidden Figures (Jan. 6)

- Beauty and the Beast (Mar. 17)

- Wonder (Apr. 7)

- Guardians of the Galaxy: Vol. 2 (May 5)

- Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales (May 26)

- Spider-Man: Homecoming (July 7)

- War for the Planet of the Apes (July 14)

- Thor: Ragnarok (Nov. 3)

- Pitch Perfect 3 (Dec. 22)

Like I said, I can't predict the future, but these were the 3 events I thought to be most important to 2017. Now, go break some New Years Resolutions!

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Whether you met your new love interest online, through mutual friends, or another way entirely, you'll definitely want to know what you're getting into. I mean, really, what's the point in entering a relationship with someone if you don't know whether or not you're compatible on a very basic level?

Consider these 21 questions to ask in the talking stage when getting to know that new guy or girl you just started talking to:

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
