While in college we all have had that one class that we take knowing it’s a risk but we say, “Hey, I’m smart I can pass this class.” Well, easier said than done. For me, the first class I dropped was an online music class. Yes, you heard me, a music class. You may be thinking music should be easy especially if it’s online. Well, you would be incorrect.

I tried my hardest in this class until I realized I’m just no Mozart and I had to accept my fate and drop the course. So for those of you who have been here and for those of you that will be here, these are the stages that you go through emotionally before dropping that class like it’s hot.

1. Your life and GPA are plummeting

At this stage, you realize that something is wrong. You are focusing all of your time on this one class yet you are suffering for it. No matter how much work you put in both your life and GPA are on a downward spiral. The question at this point is to drop or not to drop?

2. You realize you have no other choice

The second stage is when you realize that you have no other option and that you are going to have to drop. You cannot afford to fail this class, like for real you paid money for this. Your only option is to drop!

3. But, do you really have no other choice?

Now you are thinking, but like do you really need to drop this class? You think, “Even though I failed the first two tests maybe it will get better. I got this!” Well guess what, odds are it’s not going to get better it’s going to get worse, you know how college classes work. So just drop it.

4. Do it. You HAVE to drop this class.

At this stage, you just need to do it. That "W" will look so much better on a transcript than a big fat "F." You got this. Drop that class. Just think, you’ll get your sanity and GPA back!

5. You did it, you’re free now!

You dropped it! You are finally free from that class that was holding you back. But, don’t get too excited about being “free” because you still have five other class begging for your attention. But, hey at least you aren’t going to fail them...hopefully.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
