It's a simple moment, really; one we can never forget. A simple moment that crushes us down to our core. The exact moment in time we realize...we can't see our favorite artist go on tour. You have read their tweets, checked the website daily, googled them and even stumbled across their upcoming tour dates. You are searching feverishly to see how close they will be to you. Seven hours...too far away. The next state over...not happening. And then you find it, the golden ticket. Their show in a couple weeks is only two or so hours away from you. You're excited, joyful and part of you starts crying because they are finally close to your area. Years of waiting have come down to this shining moment.
But, wait what's this? You check the date and the worst possible thing happens. You CAN'T.GO.SEE.THEM. Work or school or you being broke has gotten in the way and torn apart your soul. How will you survive? Who do you have to pay off in order to go see your golden gods or goddesses live? A flood of emotions soon takes over your body and you can't tell up from down and left from right. Colors fade and life has no meaning anymore. There are certain steps of emotions that come with the tragedy of not being able to see your favorite artist live.
1. Grief Takes over: You realize just how sad and torn apart you are. They will be so close, but yet so far from you.
2. Panic: You try to find out a million different ways to get to this concert. You go into a frenzy trying to find a way to get out of work or school.
3. More Grief: It's time to sit down and take in the fact that you cannot go.
4. Content: You start to realize that maybe everything will be okay and you will see them one day eventually.
5. Calm: Days have passed and the concert is finally here. But, deep down you knew there is no way you would be going so the emotional storm has passed and you can go on living your life.
6. Never mind: YOU SEE VIDEOS AND PICTURES FROM THE CONCERT AND YOU REALIZE EVERYTHING IS HORRIBLE AND YOU'RE REALLY SAD. NOTHING WILL EVER BE OKAY AGAIN.
Whether it's your favorite band you want to see for the third time or someone you have never seen live, the stress and sadness over not being able to listen to their music live takes a toll on you emotionally. You will spend days, months and even years contemplating your next move on how to finally see them in concert. Until then you are stuck with the roller coaster of emotions that come with not being able to attend their concert when it was so close to you.
