Our love for "The Hunger Games" all started back on Sept. 18, 2008, aka when the first book was published. We have grown with the "The Hunger Games" trilogy by our side and have attended every midnight premiere. We have movie posters of Josh Hutcherson and Liam Hemsworth hanging on our walls and wish everyday that we could be as awesome as J-Law. We've been waiting for the bittersweet moment for "Mockingjay: Part 2" to open on Nov. 17. As our countdown progresses, we become more and more excited to the point where we almost can't contain it.
Stage 1: Denial
Your love for the books and movies is so strong that you don't want to see your love come to an end right before your eyes. You cried when Katniss volunteered for Prim. You laughed at the face she made in the elevator with Haymitch, Peeta, and Johanna.
Stage 2: Remembrance
But then you remembered how excited you are to see the final part come to life right before your eyes. You've created a vision of the epic ending with President Snow and are ecstatic to see how the movie makers envisioned it.
Stage 3: Buying the midnight premiere tickets.
You stayed up until 12 o'clock with your credit card in your hand getting ready to click submit to get your midnight premiere tickets. You had your lucky Mockingjay pin in-hand in hopes that they didn't sell out.
Stage 4: Receiving the midnight premiere tickets.
Let's just say you screamed because you were so excited.
Stage 5: The countdown.
You have your tickets hidden under your pillow and are constantly texting your group chat with the countdown you have created.
Stage 6: Social media following.
As if you didn't already follow enough "Hunger Games" accounts, you decide to go on a rampage. You decide to follow every fan account, actor account, and verified account in order to surround yourself with the anticipation.
Stage 7: Fangirling.
You realize that this is the last time you will most likely see Josh Hutcherson and Liam Hemsworth in the same movie together. Therefore you set them as your lock screen on your cell phone and wait for the day you get to see them on screen together for one last time.
Stage 8: Anticipation.
The premiere is getting closer and closer and with each day comes more and more excitement. The week before is actually brutal because the social media accounts are constantly posting promos.
Stage 9: The night before.
It's the night before, and you can barely sleep. At this point, you have 24 hours to go before you watch your favorite trilogy come to an end. Some tears might be shed.
Stage 10: The morning of.
You're up early to dress yourself in every "Hunger Games" attire possible. You have your Mockingjay pin on, you have your hair in Katniss's signature braid, and you are drinking out of the "Hunger Games" mug you got offline from the museum website.
Stage 11: The moment is here.
This is it. Finally, the moment you have been waiting for! You're about to watch the most amazing ending to your pride and joy. You're excitement is through the roof as you wait in line to get into the theater. This is what you have been waiting for since the first book release. It's bittersweet but you knew it would happen sometime. Until then - Happy Hunger Games! May the odds be ever in your favor.
