5 Eco-Friendly Brands Every Conscious Consumer Needs To Integrate In Their Lives

Buying planet-friendly products is a huge part of living more sustainably. If you're not interested in living more sustainably, bye! This isn't something we should do for the planet, this is something we must do in order to maintain quality of life on Earth.

If you still aren't sure why preserving our planet is so important, read this article on sustainability.

These five brands are just a few examples of the many sustainable brands out there. The list contains a mix of household brands, plant-based foods, and beauty and wellness products, but there's most likely a sustainable alternative for everything on your shopping list.

When choosing which brands to support, it never hurts to do a quick Google search for more eco-friendly options

1. Mrs. Meyers

This is one of my favorite brands for household products; their hand soaps and cleaning solutions are amazing. Mrs. Meyers uses cruelty-free formula made with plant-based ingredients and essential oils. Some of their fresh, garden-inspired scents include Lemon Verbena, Basil, and Lavender.

Just take one whiff and you're sold.

Shop their website here. If you're interested in a free Mrs. Meyers set or a monthly subscription for other eco-friendly products, I encourage you to check out Grove Collaborative.

2. The Honey Pot Company

Plant-based feminine care? Yes, please! Honey Pot is a Black-owned brand helping menstruators stay clean and healthy during their periods with all-natural feminine hygiene products.

Their organic pads, tampons, wipes, washes, and panty sprays are beautifully packaged and more friendly to your body and the environment. If you're unsure of what your honey pot needs, you can take their Feminine Care Quiz.

I also love this brand because of their efforts in ending period poverty.

Honey Pot is partnered with Happy Period, an organization that provides menstrual hygiene kits to those who are homeless, low income, or impoverished.

3. Beyond Meat

The meat industry is one of the biggest contributors to the current environmental crisis. Beyond Meat is creating delicious, plant-based meat alternatives that are as tasty as the real thing.

Their plant-based products include "sausage", "burger patties", "beef", and more alternatives to spice up your sustainable culinary adventures.

Give this brand a try, and you might like it as much or better than the real thing!

You can check out their selection of plant-based meat alternatives here.

4. Method

Method is my family's preferred brand for hand soap and dish soap and I personally love the scented body washes. The bottles are made of recycled plastic, recovered ocean plastic, and are designed to be recycled.

Method sells refill pouches of their products which is a more planet-friendly alternative to purchasing plastic bottles.

You can check out their carbon footprint, water usage, waste footprint on their Benefit Blueprint, a plan to restore natural resources and better the community. Try this brand out the next time you need household cleaning products if you haven't already!

5. Love Beauty and Planet

This brand has a beautifully packaged variety of beauty and home products, ranging from shampoo to all-purpose cleaner. Love Beauty and Planet uses plant-based and biodegradable ingredients and recycled plastic packaging.

This brand has pledged to cut down their carbon footprint and gives to a carbon tax fund that reduces carbon emissions and landfill waste.

This brand is truly committed to a better future, and the bright floral packaging and gorgeous scents alone are enough to make you fall in love with Love Beauty and Planet.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register.
