Food is a hassle in college, especially when you have no food but your body can gain 15 pounds. Everyone craves that easy meal that is also delicious. Below are five meals that are cheap, quick, and absolutely yummy. I promise if you make one of these once a week, you'll have more time on your hands and more food in your belly!
Cheesy Ramen
This takes normal ramen and adds a twist! It's very easy and your taste buds will thank you.
1. Boil water in a saucepan of your choice. (If you don't have a stove, place ramen in a bowl of water and microwave it).
2. Add the ramen and cook until tender.
3. Pour out the water and leave only the noodles.
4. Add the sodium packet and cheese of your choice. If you'd like, season to taste.
Veggie Burger Wrap
Healthy yet innovative!
1. Put a pan on the stove and add olive/vegetable oil.
2. Add one veggie burger of your choice. When it is cooked all the way through, separate it with a spoon.
3. Remove the veggie burger from the pan and add a tortilla for about one minute.
4. When crispy, put the tortilla on a plate and place the veggie burger inside.
5. Add lettuce and tomatoes, or other sides. If you wish, use mayonnaise.
Quesadillas
Ah, a simple and tasty classic! The best thing about quesadillas is that they're so versatile!
1. Place a medium sized tortilla on a pan and add cheddar cheese.
2. When the cheese begins to melt, add the ingredients you want in your quesadilla (chicken, tomatoes, lettuce, rice, beans, mushrooms, bacon, etc).
3. As the tortilla browns and the cheese is melted completely, take one side of the tortilla and move it over the other.
4. Cook for one more minute and then remove it from the pan.
5. Cut the quesadilla in threes and then add sour cream or guacamole on the side.
Bacon Guac Grilled Cheese
Grilled cheese is amazing. End of story. (Also, it's super easy to make!)
1. Cook bacon and set it aside on a paper towel to get the grease off.
2. Butter both sides of the bread.
3. Put cheese on the non-buttered side of one slice of bread. Then add the bacon and guacamole of your choice.
4. Add leftover cheese to the top of the guacamole.
5. Put the other slice of bread on buttered-side up.
6. Cook on the stove for about three minutes or until you think it's ready.
Vegetarian Burrito Bowl
Bring the amazingness of Mexican food into your abode!
1. Put pre-cooked minute rice into a bowl.
2. Cook black beans for a couple of minutes and then drain. Add them to the bowl.
3. Sprinkle on cheese (cheddar or Mexican blend).
4. Use any ingredients of your choice. I reccommend sour cream (or greek yogurt), guacamole, lettuce, tomatoes, and corn.
