Netflix series "Stranger Things" proved to be an extraordinary unmasking of what true friendship is all about. As one boy from a group of four best friends goes missing, the rest take matters into their own hands and search for their missing friend, trying endlessly to bring him back home. Throughout the whole season, we are able to view the struggles these kids face, as everything gets more complicated with every step they take. These seven reasons will truly show you why character Dustin Henderson stole all of our hearts.
1. He represents exactly how we feel, everyday.
Running away from scary old people is exactly what we do everyday.
2. Demonstrated the true power of friendship.
No matter what, Dustin would never leave any of his friends behind. He would stand side by side with pride, honor and strength to those whom he called his best friends.
3. We all love a kid who takes the lead.
Dustin didn't shy away from taking control of the situation and using his creative side to get what he wanted.
4. In times of struggle, he knows exactly what we need to survive--chocolate pudding.
Even though they where in a strict time schedule, Dustin always found himself bringing snacks.
5. With honesty and perseverance, Dustin always knew what needed to happen.
In the tough times, Dustin didn't seem to shy away from telling the truth. He would take charge of the situation and say what needed to be said.
6. Dustin exposes the inner child we all have.
When we were kids, we used to always joke around and Dustin clearly exemplifies the inner child in all of us.
7. At the end of the day, Dustin demonstrated to us the power of friendship.
Dustin would ultimately stand by his friends and demonstrate that no matter what he would always be right next to them supporting them in everything.
"Stranger Things," of course, is much more than an awakening of the truth in friendship, as its core plot it brings light into the unknown and mysterious world of the supernatural. With every single episode, a new revelation would bring the audience closer to the truth, and keep them wanting to know what would happen next. That being said, my personal favorite character, which probably goes without saying, is Dustin, as he continued to be the rock and the foundation of his group of friends. Through hard times, Dustin sought a way to bring laughter, love and radiance.
