This time of year is rough. Spring break is so close, yet so far. The weather is teasing us by being cast in the perfectly sunny, mid-seventies weather and we are ready to be out of our classes for at least a week.

These last few weeks before spring break are usually the times I decide I want to skip all of my classes, sit outside, read books, and live the life of an old and wise woman who recites famous lines of literature to strangers as advice for their lives.

This life doesn't sound too terrible until I start thinking about all the amazing things I can do when I finally receive my degree. So, without further ado, here are fifteen different things you and I can look forward to instead of dropping out of school.

1. I have to have a career so I can support the plethora of dogs I want to adopt someday.

2. Teaching is actually my biggest passion in life and if I drop out of school I will never feel fulfilled.

3. Paying back student loans is actually a great lesson in being financially responsible, right?

4. My future career will hopefully help support my future family and I can't let them down this early in the game.

5. If I drop out, I'll have one of my biggest goals left incomplete. And incomplete goals are just sad.

6. Once I graduate and get a career, I can afford all of the Iced Caramel Macchiattos that I want (within reason, of course.)

7. Having a career means having a 401K and retirement. So I can't start early and drop out now.

8. Once I retire, I can live on a beach somewhere and recite lines of literature to strangers then.

9. Once I get my degree in education and become a teacher, I'll have teacher discounts waiting for me.

10. If I drop out now, I'll never have the opportunity to give a student an A+ on one of their papers.

11. I can't wait to have one of my classes read E.E. Cummings for the first time. If I drop out, I'll never see that happen.

12. Dropping out of college wouldn't make me the best role model for my siblings.

13. I would probably let my parents down if I don't finish college. Letting them down is the worst.

14. I wouldn't get to walk across the stage with my best friends that I've worked so hard with.

15. Graduation isn't too far away. If I can make it until then, I'll have my whole life ahead of me.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
