I had a dream of blowing bubbles
big pink leathery bubbles
the kind where the gum sticks to your face
and only more gum can get it off

I had a dream of pirates and biker gangs
I was a victim of their violent ways
I tried fighting back but to little avail
and was stuck in the gut with a blade

I had a dream that I was late
so I took a taxi across town
there were obstacles and missed phone calls
and I showed up two hours late

I had a dream I was young again
I rode my bike down a quiet street
was headed straight for a rock, but then I took off
and flew high above the ground

Then I’d plummet to Earth
but right before crashing
I’d wake with a start
startled and shaking

My favorite dreams are the ones that I have
when I don’t know I’m dreaming
My favorite dreams are the ones that I have
when I wake up screaming or laughing

Terrified in dream land
Makes waking life seem sane
to die in your head is to be born again
and nothing is ever the same
