Don't be a Drag, Just Listen to a Queen!

I was against podcasts at first. Listening to people talk the whole time? I have people that can do that in real life! However, I took the plunge and haven't looked back. Drag queens really know how to talk and work a conversation, so listening to them is a riot. It can go from hilarity to emotional and everything in between. Here are 3 podcasts hosted by drag queens that I love listening to.

"Whimsically Volatile" with Katya and Craig

Katya and Craig host this interview themed podcast. Craig is not a drag queen, but he gets a pass. In the beginning episodes, they would introduce a theme, talk about it for a second, and then go on a variety of tangents. Then they invite a guest on, and they could be a fellow queen, a friend from home, or someone else in show biz. Katya is a very intelligent oddball with so many things to talk about, and Craig (also intelligent) keeps her on the ground. Their episodes range from 1-2 hours and are released every 1-2 weeks. Check it out!

"Race Chaser" with Alaska and Willam

This podcast focuses on "the discussion, dissection, and dissemination of every episode of RuPaul's Drag Race starting from the very beginning." Alaska and Willam have a years long rapport that really shines through on the show. They bounce off each other well, and their unique senses of humor really makes this podcast golden. They also have an Instagram page (@racechaserpod) where they post pictures of what they are talking about, which is a great addition. This section comes out on Wednesdays and lasts around an hour. They recently added a new section called "Hot Goss" where they spend about 30-45 minutes discussing the latest news including a segment called "Let's Get Political: Let Me See Your Poli-Sci." They also answer viewer questions. If you want a good laugh while learning your Drag Race herstory, give it a listen!

"Sibling Rivalry" with Bob the Drag Queen and Monét X Change

Bob and Monét are best friends who kinda look alike. The title of this podcast comes from that fact, and that they usually disagree on a lot of subjects. Each episode title is the subject that is introduced, and then they discuss. We get to hear their takes on issues that range from their blackness, religion, sexuality, fear, and how sweaty Bob is. These two are the funniest people I have ever listened to, which makes me sad that their episodes come out...whenever they come out. But also, absence makes the heart grow fonder. I'm excited whenever they are released. They also have a companion video series called "Anything You Can Do" where they do a challenge to see who wins. Past challenges have included a no mirror makeup challenge, and following a Bob Ross tutorial. Give them a listen, especially if you are white. You'll learn a few things.

Add these queer artists to your podcast list to add some diversity. While "The Adventure Zone" might be good, the White Men podcast genre is tired!

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
