No Matter What, Don't Overwork Yourself

I know it seems difficult, you may have to work crazy hours to make ends meet, even multiple jobs. But working long crazy hours can eventually tire you out and that's something you don't want to do. You will burn yourself out, you will get so tired you don't want to do anything.

I've personally have done this before and within the past 3 months too. I started college in the medical field, I drive an hour to school and an hour back home Tuesday-Friday. I work almost full-time hours on top of that as well. I was working day shifts then going into night shifts and then going to school. Eventually, with the help of friends and family, I realized I was burning myself out. I also had no time to actually sit down and relax or be a young adult and go out and have fun with friends. I also realized I became sick more or that I never felt good between running back and forth from school to work. It becomes a lot to handle and you shouldn't do the same thing to yourself.

I'm not the only one who has done this though. One of my best friends works multiple jobs and is a full-time student as well. I almost never get to see her because even when we do have days off on the rare occasion that we do, they are never the same day. I've seen her get so stressed out that she just has to have a breakdown and really who can blame her?

Working crazy hours and multiple jobs on top of being a full-time student can really take a toll on someone. She realized that she needed to cut back herself. We are barely in our 20's, we should be out having fun and worrying about school, not worrying about our part-time jobs that we won't even have once we graduate.

If you feel like you're overworking yourself and find yourself becoming stressed, don't feel bad to cut back your hours if possible. Everyone needs some time for themselves to be themselves and live their life. If you don't know if you are overworking yourself, please be aware of the signs such as having no energy, very irritable, grinding your teeth, low productivity, and physical symptoms such as sickness.

Honestly, you need your sleep and not like four hours every night that's not enough for your body. You need to take time off also, this will remind you that you are an actual person outside of your job. It really is okay to live life, have fun, as well as manage your job. There is nothing wrong with working, especially for the work-a-holics out there, but just remember to take some time to relax your body and your mind. Otherwise, it's just going to overwhelm you all at once till you finally just break down.

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

As an English Major in college, I have a lot of writing and especially creative writing pieces that I work on throughout the semester and sometimes, I'll find it hard to get the motivation to type a few pages and the thought process that goes behind it. These are eleven thoughts that I have as a writer while writing my stories.

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
