Your Sleep Position Says A Lot About You

Sleeping is something we all do, I know a revolutionary idea, but have you ever wondered if there's a reason you sleep the way you do? Or how common each sleep position is? Well, then this is the article for you!

I'd like to first start off with a little background knowledge on how common each sleeping position is. That being on your back, side, or stomach.Statistics show that 37% of people sleep on their stomachs, 37% sleep on their backs, and 26% sleep on their side. But these statistics do not include positions that are in-between or positions including a partner.

But why does your sleeping position reflect your personality? When going to bed there is usually that one position you always choose, and while sleeping all choices are not conscious. Making your sleep position a reflection of honest expression of yourself. So let's get into those positions and what they say about your personality. After all, on average we spend a third of our life sleeping!

If you sleep like a baby balled up you are generally more reserved, you have a hard exterior and you generally have trepidation when in new environments/situations. On the contrary, if you sleep in the shooting star position, meaning you sleep on your back with your arms up. Then you are generally more trusting and open to others and you generally are a good communicator. If you sleep on your side with your arms extended in front of you, you are generally open and inviting, but are still suspicious of new accountancies.

If you sleep like a soldier on your back, you are generally not a fan of lots of attention, you like structure. You also probably snore, but this position also helps with acid reflux. So, you've got that going for you. If you sleep in a skydiver position, my personal favorite, you sleep on your stomach with one leg up. If you sleep in this position you are generally playful, a free spirit, and to the point. The downside is that this position is one of the worst to sleep in because it causes tension on sensitive muscles that can hurt your neck and back.

Lastly, If you sleep with a partner (won't let me add couples-sleeping-styles) your position says more about your relationship than it does about specifically your personality. Cuddling signifies intimacy, but the ultimate couple sleeping position is actually in your own space. That is the biggest signal of a confident relationship is that you cuddle but then let each other have their own space to sleep.

This is just a few examples of how sleep positions reflect your personality and your relationships. There are many articles and studies done on this subject and it is worthwhile taking a more in-depth look into it. Additionally, this is just one source finding and is not concrete. With that said, it is completely possible that you are a spontaneous adventure craving person but sleep in the soldier position.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
