My Dog As A Remedy For Holiday Woes

Ghost, my family's Samoyed, has gotten me through many hardships - holidays included.

When it comes to making it through the holidays, for the past year and a half I've had the best support a person could ask for. He's fluffy, loving, and a big goof - however, he's generally referred to as Ghost. Ever since my family adopted him, he's been the biggest ball of sunshine; he brightens each holiday, no matter how difficult some of them can get. Here are some ways, or some moments that have brightened my days with him - I hope they can help others too.

1.) When We First Got Him

When he entered our lives towards the end of July 2015, he was only three months old but already rather big for his age. From the moment we met him, he has been a big ball of fluff.

2.) First Wash

Each week that passed by, he grew and grew. I can't quite recall when we first brought him to get washed, but I can never forget the bandana that he wore, nor the newly soft feel of his fur. He's always "floofiest" after a wash.

3.) First Snow

He's simply addicted to snow. His double coat makes him perfect for the cold, which is why it came as no surprise when he immediately buried himself in the snow the first time it came around. The amount of snow that clung to his fur was insane - we had to wrap him in a towel and shake the pull the snow off. It's a sight to see.

4.) Playtime

He's incredibly lively; and when he's not, he's adorably sleepy. When it comes to his playful nature, he spends most of his time jumping around. There's no end to his slipping and sliding when playing indoors. Outside he tends to sprint and jump to no end.

5.) Interactions

Each person that he encounters is no stranger to his loving temperament. He is a natural when it comes to exuding oodles of compassion and cuddles. Generally, he opens up to a new person easily and also grows sleepy after a while of petting.

6.) Him

The following are all the images that I find incredibly adorable (there's way more than what's seen but I didn't want to put down a million photos).

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
