I hate to break it to you, but minimum wage doesn't need to raise. If you want to make enough money to live comfortably then go to college (and take out a student loan like the rest of us), get into the trades, or simply search harder for a job rather than being lackadaisical and lazy. I don't mean to be unsympathetic, but raising the minimum wage isn't going to do anything besides create more problems within society. If you don't believe me, keep reading.
1. Raising minimum wage will make other things more expensive
If the dairy farmer has to pay the delivery man more money, then the cost of milk itself will go up so the dairy farmer can continue to make the same amount of profit. Every company has an agenda that they have to keep as well as profit margin. So that alone makes raising the minimum wage pointless.
2. People protesting minimum wage are protesting themselves out of a job
Companies such as McDonald's are beginning to use kiosks instead of cashiers... so keep on protesting how much you get paid if you want to be replaced by a (non-complaining) robot.
3. Trump already took care of it...
President Trump made a big tax reduction earlier in the year. This was passed on the premise companies would have more money to not only pay employees higher wages but to also hire more employees.
4. Many companies pay over minimum wage anyways
Many privately owned companies start beginners/new employees at a higher pay than minimum wage anyway. You just have to actually job search.
5. You can't expect a CEO pay with a minimum wage work ethic
I've had a lot of jobs, all ranging from minimum wage ($8.15 per hour) to $32.40 an hour... and let me tell you, the work is significantly harder at the higher paying job. People complain about CEO's making an abundance of money, but they don't realize that they are not capable of making executive decisions. I've been into places like McDonald's, and some of the cashiers aren't even capable of counting my money back to me. If they were to raise minimum wage, they would need to hire employees with higher technical skills, due to the increased workload that comes from having fewer employees.
6. Not only may the protesters be replaced by a robot, but they may be fired
If the minimum wage goes up, then companies might have to fire some of their employees in order to accommodate for the money lost in the pay raise.
These reasons on top of many others are why minimum wage shouldn't increase. If we raise minimum wage, the rest of society could fall apart.
