Schools out and the warm weather is here, which makes for time of leisure and laid back days of fun in the sun. Summer in in full swing, and the easy and laid back attitude summer never fails to bear, now is the perfect time to test out some simple "do it yourself" decorations and life hacks.

1. Spice Up Your Pool.

Wanna spice up your summer pool parties? In this DIY night swimming just became enhanced on a whole new level. Just by simply sticking a glow stick into a water balloon, the atmosphere of the night will come to life. Having these float around poolside with definitely make your party a summer night for the books, and its so easy! The remainder of the glow sticks can be dumped into the pool, with a glow that'll last all night long.

2. Backyard Bed

Got a kiddie pool and some pillows? Load up a mini kiddie pool and blow it up, and then fill it with cozy blankets and hop in the pool. Lay back, look at the stars, and just relax. It's that simple.

3. Make Your Own Popsicles

Do you ever wanna drop the diet for a cold ice cream on a summer day, well no need to now! With these easy strawberry banana popsicles, (essentially a frozen smoothie), you can cool off, while also mantaining your summer diet. Eat up!

4. Personal S'mores Pot

Nothing, I repeat nothing, screams summer more than a warm s'more over a campfire. But, is there a quicker, more affordable, and portable method of making a s'mores with friends? With this effortless DIY, all you'll need is a flowering pot of any kind, fill with charcoal, and wah lah!

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.
