Diwali is the festival of lights that happens every fall in the Hindu calendar in the northern hemisphere .
Diwali has been practiced many Indians around the world for many years. During the BC time period, India's resources were primarily based on agriculture, just like many other civilizations during this time period. However, crops didn't grow during the winter time due to changing climate. Diwali is the festival the marks when the crops stop growing, and when other businesses start flourishing.
During Diwali, people tend to decorate rangolis in their houses. Rangolis are typically flower-like designs that are formed from flower petals and sand. Then, lights are adorned around the rangoli to show the theme of the festival.
People usually celebrate Diwali by getting together with their friends and family members. During these get-togethers, people sing,dance and eat lots of food.
On the third day of Diwali, people perform the Lakshmi puja (prayer) to honor Lakshmi, the goddess of wealth and prosperity.
Overall, Diwali is one of the most auspicious holidays of the Hindu calendar, and it will always be celebrated with lots of fun!
