With summer soon approaching, I know that I’ve been trying to be more careful about what I’m eating. One of my biggest struggles is to kick eating chips. So far, I’ve been successfully staying away from my salty guilty pleasure with these substitutes and I thought that I’d share them with you!
Annie Chun's Seaweed Crisps
While the name may turn you off, don’t write off these crispy crackers. Made with popped brown rice layered with thin cut dried seaweed, these crackers pack the crunch of chips without the guilt! Annie Chun’s Seaweed Crisps come in several flavors to choose from and with just 80 calories a serving, they are the perfect fix to satisfy you.
Peas Please
Peas Please is a great way to get your daily serving of veggies with these fun puffed green peas. With five grams of protein, four grams of fiber and 130 calories a serving, these puffed green peas are a great substitute for chips! They are puffed and salted perfectly. They even come in a variety of flavors!
Skinny Girl Popcorn
Skinny Girl Popcorn snacks are single serving packages of popcorn that are low in calories and come in a variety of flavors from classic butter & sea salt to lime & salt. Each serving is only 160 calories and it leaves you satisfying your salty craving!
Pretzel Crisps
These fun twists on pretzels are a great way to kick your salty craving! These flattened and baked pretzel crisps are thin and easy to take on the go. You can even pair them with cheese, hummus, or your favorite deli meats. Pretzel Crisps come in several flavors/seasonings and contain about 100 calories per serving.
Sun-Maid Dried Fruit
Dehydrated fruits are a healthy substitute for chips. My personal favorites are dried mangos, bananas, and apples. They are thin and crispy enough to trick you into thinking that they are a guilty pleasure while they are actually good for you! With about 130 calories, give or take depending on the type of fruit, these are a great snack to take on the go.
I hope that you find these healthy eating alternatives helpful!
