Anyone who knows me knows that I'm a Disney super fan, like a lot of people my age. There's something about these movies that are truly timeless, that in turn make them enjoyable for all ages, genders, & moods. Here are some of my favorite Disney quotes from both classic and newer movies.
1. “Love is putting someone else’s needs before yours.” – Frozen
Although "Perks of Being a Wallflower" would disagree, Frozen teaches this quote lesson about life, love and how to show affection
2. “The flower that blooms in adversity is the most rare and beautiful of them all.” – Mulan
Mulan is a movie that encourages people to break out from what people, society and others may expect them to do and instead, being true to yourself is what's most important. This quote, spoken by the Emperor of China represents that moral of the story.
3. “If you can’t say something nice, don’t say nothin’ at all.” – Bambi
Something that should be common courtesy yet goes missing in most people's lives. Like the golden rule of "treat others the way you want to be treated," this quote emphasizes the importance of staying kind.
4. “The past can hurt. But the way I see it, you can either run from it, or learn from it.” – The Lion King
Rafiki's wisdom is one of the reasons that Disney movies like The Lion King remain enchanting for viewers of all ages. While it's important to teach this lesson to children, it remains completely applicable to older viewers too.
5. "I want so much more than they have planned..." - The Beauty and the Beast
Like Belle, it's important to never stop dreaming.
6. “You must not let anyone define your limits because of where you come from." - Ratatouille.
A reason that Disney is able to reach children and adults across cultures is because of its mass appeal and themes like unification, equality & believing in yourself.
7. "Your identity is your most valuable possession. Protect it." - The Incredibles
8. "If you walk the footsteps of a stranger, you'll learn things you never knew you never knew." - Pocahontas
Learning about diversity is important, and expanding your worldview is always something that should be encouraged from a young age.
9. "And when I promise something -- I always keep it." - Tangled

Honestly, we can all take a page out of Rapunzel's book for this kind of integrity.
10. "Like so many things it is not what outside but what is inside that counts" - Aladdin
It took him all movie to learn this lesson, but hopefully viewers will be able to be mindful of this moral when it comes to decision making, and seeing someone or something's true value.
