10 disney Princess Mantras That Make Your Life A Little More Magical

When you need a little motivation, Disney is always the answer.

Who doesn't love the Disney princesses? As kids, we couldn't get enough of their beauty and charm, but while we enjoyed the movies, we may not have fully understood their purposes and the lessons they aimed to teach. Now that we're older, however, we are able to fully grasp them.

What we might have once regarded as just empty words now serve as inspiration for different aspects of our lives. From bold independent statements to the encouragement to keep doing what is right to the motivation to keep chasing your dreams... there's something for everyone.

Here are what I think are some of the most meaningful Disney princess quotes:

"Sometimes the right path is not the easiest one." - Pocahontas, "Pocahontas"

This is something many of us are all too familiar with. Choosing to do the right thing in difficult situations will always be the hardest but most rewarding decision to make.

"Remember you're the one who can fill the word with sunshine." - Snow White, "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs"

Don't be so quick to write this one off as naive. Although it's cheesy, it is true that we as individuals have the power to be the change we want to see in the world, one ray of sunshine at a time.

"The only way to get what you want in this world is through hard work." - Tiana, "The Princess and the Frog"

There's not much to say about this except that we can always count on Tiana to keep things real for us. #favoritedisneyprincess

"You don't really need someone to complete you. You only need someone to accept you completely." - Rapunzel, "Tangled"

Don't conform to other people's ideas of what you should be like. If someone can't accept you the way you are, they do not deserve a place in your life.

"I want so much more than they've got planned." Belle, "Beauty and the Beast"

People's expectations of you should not be what you aim for in life. Set your own goals and standards for what you want out of your life.

"You control your destiny. You don't need magic to do it. And there are no magical shortcuts to solving your problems." - Merida, "Brave"

Although this may take a little bit of reading between the lines (as we do not have magic powers), the message is still very relevant: there are no shortcuts in life. Everything you want comes as a result of actions you deliberately take.

"The flower that blooms late is the most rare and beautiful of all." - Mulan, "Mulan"

Don't be worried if it takes a little longer for you to get a certain stage in life than the people around you. Everyone's timing is a little different and it's not going to change the impact you're going make.

"I'm not a prize to be won." - Jasmine, "Aladdin"

Know your worth and no one will ever be able to take advantage of you. Short and sweet!

"Fairy tales can come true. You gotta make them happen, it all depends on you." - Tiana, "The Princess and the Frog"

What every little girl wants to hear is something you can really make happen in your life. Ambition, drive, and determination are what you need to do so.

"Have courage and be kind." - Cinderella, "Cinderella"

Although this is from the 2015 live-action remake, rather than the original film like the other entries on this list, it's one of my favorite sayings. Be brave enough to stand up for yourself and those around you, but at the same time, don't forget to show compassion to those who need it.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
